An invite from the Harley Owners Group® - Mobile, Al.
Here at the Mobile Chapter of the H.O.G. Group®, we would like to reach out and invite any Harley-Davidson® owner to join and participate in our group. We have many activities happening year round, almost every weekend. We have group rides to lunch, events and other activities, where we all share the same enthusiasm for riding motorcycles. We have real fun socializing with one another and encourage you to do the same. Whether you are a daily rider or ride when your off from the daily grind, ride across town or across country there are plenty of folks from all walks of life that will welcome you as a friend. Be sure to introduce yourself, there are lot's of members that would appreciate talking with you.
We would like to remind you that whether your a novice, a little rusty on your skills, or a pro, group riding is a safer way to travel. Some are somewhat intimidated by group riding, but let me tell you, people see 12 bikes way before they see 1. The Road Captains are very informative, provide you with what to expect on your ride and will answer any questions you may have.
So check out the link on the sidebar menu called "Our Chapter", get familiar with what it takes to become a member and come ride with us. I think you will find, like we have, a whole new family.

- New Patch Established
In case you haven't noticed, there has been a new patch associated with our H.O.G.® Chapter this year, it's called the 5%'er patch. It is the only patch that can be earned. Our Director has purposed that we have an earnable patch for volunteers. In research, most groups would have a volunteer base of +/- 20% of the total membership. Some reason our group has a volunteer rate which is closer to 5% of our members. So the new 5%'er patch has been introduced to encourage members to get involved not only because it benefit's the Chapter, but because it is a whole new level of getting to know your fellow members. There are no set number of activities, nor particular criteria for earning the patch, as of yet, it's really a recognition for an outstanding volunteer. These can be awarded to any Member, this is not an Officer's Patch, if you make yourself stand out as a volunteer, you will automatically qualify for a patch. This patch is awarded by the Director of our Chapter. In a nut shell, this new patch is intended to do two things, hopefully attract members to volunteer and also show our appreciation for going the extra mile for the Mobile H.O.G.® Chapter.
