Ralph's Ride To Petal, MS 5.20.2007

A WONDERFUL RIDE WITH RALPH G.

Ralph organized the ride for Sunday morning, May 20, 2007 so that all of the employees of MBHD could participate.  The gathering location was at Ralph’s favorite place, the Chevron station at Snow and Tanner Williams Roads.  At 8:30 a.m. riders began to show up, and everyone was upbeat, anticipating a fun ride.  The weather was beautiful and by 9:00 a.m. we were all ready and anxious to go.  Riders emerged from all directions and by the time the engines were fired up there was a group of 44 people on 32 bikes roaring in the Chevron parking lot.  Ralph, our road captain, lead the ride through meandering country roads of Alabama and Mississippi, flanked by woods, farm houses and horse ranches, all the way to Petal, MS where we arrived just before noon.  Our lunch stop was at “The Catfish Wagon Restaurant” in Petal, a spacious, clean and extremely hospitable restaurant and gift shop.  The food and service were excellent and abundant.  We had plenty of time to visit and chat with old friends, to meet new riders and make new friends.  On the return trip Ralph took the ride through new back roads (which only Ralph knows) and we ended the journey at about 3:30 p.m. at Wilmer and Tanner Williams Roads, where everyone expressed their pleasure for the ride and their appreciation to our Road Captain, Ralph Goff for the wonderful ride.  Ralph and other road captains have organized many of these rides and we encourage all our H.O.G. members and riders to check the schedule and participate in these fun rides.
